A manufacturing company in the defense industry needed to simulate pressure and temperature conditions on a large motor to test its performance limits and meet strict military standards. We designed a custom 80 cubic foot chamber from the Tenney Vacuum Oven Model SVO series.
Especially unique to this application, the chamber has a top mounted flat door through which the motor is raised and lowered with the use of an overhead crane. When loaded, a fluid heating system is employed to heat the chamber using a conditioned heat transfer fluid, which is circulated through copper tubing that surrounds the shell of the chamber and oven door. The customer’s vacuum pump is utilized to depressurize the chamber.
- Precise process control is achieved with the VersaTenn V / Synergy Nano HMI touchscreen controller
- Chamber vacuum pressure can range from site level to 8.28mm Hg (100,000 feet)
- Temperature conditions can be tested from +15° C above ambient (approx.) to +150° C, +/- 1.0 deg. after stabilization
